Future Kinesiologist & Exercise Physiologist
(Skaha Bluffs, 2018)

In high school I was a runner and skiier. After a fall skiing, I sustained multiple hip fractures, resulting in the loss of an athletic scholarship.
At the age of 18 I became a fitness instructor and personal trainer, originally certifying with CanFit Pro and CPTN. In Toronto I was influenced by a Chiropractor specialized in Active Rehab, and a Physiotherapist teaching STOTT Pilates. They were doing something that I wanted to know more about.
Inspired by the beauty of British Columbia, I relocated to Vancouver to pursue an undergraduate in Human Kinetics. I had a baby girl and switched to Physical Education. I did not continue to PDP and become a teacher. Instead, I continued to work in the Fitness Industry for another 10 years.
My daughter is grown now and I am a student again, updating courses and working towards a Post Grad Diploma in Kinesiology in 2027. I plan on becoming a BCAK Kinesiologist and CSEP Exercise Physiologist.
With over 25 years of experience in the Health & Fitness Industry, I possess maturity. resilience and leadership.
(Cathedral Lakes, BC, 2015)

I plan to open a clinical practice & studio. In addition to clinical services, offering Pilates, Functional Strength & Conditioning, Mobility, Recovery & Yoga. (Climbing Gym, Vancouver, 2013)

Using the principles of authentic and transformative leadership, I will develop excellence in my team. Leading with purpose, passion and integrity. (Kalamalka Provincial Park, 2019)

Highlights from my 25 year career in the fitness industry including: coaching strength & conditioning, group fitness, personal training, yoga and training workshops. (POND Performance, Penticton, 2026)

Undergraduate in Physical Education & Coaching. Currently studying to become a Registered Kinesiologist and Business Leader. (Cathedral Campgrounds, 2015)

Student practicums in: Strength & Conditioning, Athletic Therapy, Kinesiology, Pilates & Yoga. (PURE Gym, Penticton, 2024)

Highlights from my academic acumen in Human Kinetics and Business Leadership.
My 5-year plan is to own a clinical exercise studio - offering clinical exercise programs, functional assessments, and individualized training plans. I will create an online platform, with on demand videos and services from coaches & clinicians.
I am upgrading my undergraduate in Physical Education & Coaching, with a concentration in Kinesiology. Upon graduation, I am undertaking a Post Degree Diploma (PDD) in Kinesiology, including two professional fieldwork placements, followed by Jurisprudence and exams to become a Registered Kinesiologist in British Columbia.
I am also taking Business courses to develop the technical skills for owning a studio. These courses include Leadership & Development, Writing & Designing Websites, Digital Marketing, and Social Media & Ad Campaigns. I plan to pair business with my passion for movement, health, and vitality.
Additionally, I am working towards a comprehensive STOTT Pilates certification (with clinical applications) and NSCA Strength & Conditioning certification. I plan on training a team of Instructors to complement the clinical practice.

(El Dorado Resort, Kelowna, 2023)
Influenced by my personal experience as a young competitive athlete, I became aware of an overarching issue – a lack of understanding in managing and preventing injuries. Hence, I am educating myself to do just that.
My intention is to inspire and motivate others to be the best version of themselves, by developing a sense of purpose and a positive mindset. I plan to lead by example, fostering a culture of athleticism, camaraderie, and teamwork. My aim is to create lasting positive impacts in the lives of those I serve and work with.
Stewardship is what I aspire towards. I strive to be the kind of leader I wish I had, to lead with empathy and compassion, ensuring that every individual feels empowered to perform to the best of their ability. I believe that a shared vision, combined with high engagement and collaboration, empowers teams to achieve success.

Combining Kinesiology and Pilates is brilliant. At Orthoquest & MoveWell I’ve had the experience of learning how it fits together. I’m excited to dive deeper into the clinical applications of Kinesiology at Douglas College, including two Professional Practicums. These are part of the requirements in becoming a Registered Kinesiologist In British Columbia.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be learning from seasoned Athletic Therapists, working with competitive athletes in Penticton. Including table tests, functional movement patterning, progressions & regressions. It’s the difference between performing well in the short term and consistently showing up and excelling in the long term.

I love teaching Youth Strength & Conditioning. It’s incredibly rewarding and meaningful to me. The combination of Athletic Therapy and Youth Strength & Conditioning is providing me with a wealth of knowledge, resources and ideas for the future. It’s been an enriching and empowering experience.

Certified in STOTT Pilates, I utilize both contemporary & classical repertoire. My next steps include Cadillac, Chairs & Barrels (CCB), Pilates Strength & Conditioning and clinical applications, such as peripheral joint stabilization and fascial mobilization. Breath is the foundation of all movement practices. I practice Yoga to train the mind & the body. I am a 500 hour RYT Yoga Teacher, with additional certifications in hot yoga, yin and aerial. This is me in King Pigeon. The hammock is a great way to access asanas, inversions, fascial release and restoration. (Penticton, 2022)

Cross-country skiing is a lifelong source of enrichment and cardiovascular fitness. I was a guide for blind cross-country skiers prior to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. In 2014 I coached at Sovereign Lakes, Silver Star Mountain Resort. (Happy Valley, Big White, 2017)
